Madison Hamzy therapist sacramento

I help individuals and couples learn they no longer need to stay stuck in painful, stressful or upsetting experiences so they can embrace a sense of connection, confidence, and joy.

You can experience more fulfillment in your life and relationships! I’m here to support you.

I’m the type of therapist who knows what it’s like to want help that includes a sense of structure in your support–you don’t want to spend therapy with a quiet therapist who just nods their head.

I will work with you to understand, challenge, and accept all parts of yourself.

I create a space where you can be fully yourself and feel comfortable sharing your innermost thoughts and feelings without fear of being judged or rejected.

Whether you’re feeling distant and disconnected, isolated and stuck, anxious or not enough, each struggle you face is worthy of exploration and healing.

There are a million reasons why someone might choose to go to therapy, all of them are good reasons.

I believe we are the sum of our parts – you might have a protective part, an angry part, a part that just wants to feel accepted.

You might have a part that feels anxious all the time or one that shuts down and avoids. Some of our parts are louder than others, some hide in the background.

I support individuals and couples build insight into the various “parts” showing up in their relationships, self-talk, reactions, and communication. As your therapist, I encourage you to safely explore difficult emotions, thoughts, and patterns.

When working with couples, I see myself as a conductor.

Whether you’re stuck in a negative cycle or trying to repair your relationship after a big change or betrayal, I work to understand the cycle of the relationship and make both partners feel understood and seen. I aim to strengthen your communication and connection through modeling attunement and encouraging vulnerability.

I am committed to truly understanding you, your story, and where you’d like to go next. My hope is for all my clients to find healing and learn skills to thrive.

I believe therapy is a collaborative process.

Together, we will work to help you gain new insights, heal wounds both old and new, and experience growth and empowerment.

Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time or starting again, it can be intimidating.

And while I can’t promise it will always be easy, I promise to meet you with warmth, patience, and a good sense of humor.

I have experience working with young and middle-aged adults struggling with anxiety and depression, personal and family relationships, finding healing post-breakup, and experiencing difficult life changes.

First and foremost, my work is client-centered. I strive to build meaningful relationships with my clients to help foster resilience and confidence. I recognize the courage it takes to engage in therapy and believe that no matter what brings you here, you are deserving of love and acceptance.

I am of the philosophy that if we do anything for one hour per week, we won’t be very good at it.

I blend therapeutic techniques and engaging tools to help clients build their strengths, challenge themselves, and explore their emotions both in and outside of the session.

You deserve to live a life you’re proud of. You deserve fulfilling relationships. You deserve to experience peace and healing. I’m here to help you do that.

I welcome anyone regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, class, or ability.

On a personal note…

I am a self-proclaimed Trader Joe’s enthusiast, and lover of podcasts and puzzles. I enjoy cooking without a recipe, reading good books, and my daily walks. I’m a big fan of pop music, reality tv, and my cat, Spoon.

I am excited everyday by the work I do and feel lucky to be part of your journey.
