Hi! I’m Ashley.
I’m the type of therapist who has a gentle, calming presence and draws from the latest research to provide you with the highest quality care.
My clients tell me that I create a safe place for them to heal. They tell me they can hear my voice outside session and it helps them trust themselves. The perspectives I share with them help them feel unstuck.
I provide therapy for adults:
I help people-pleasers, perfectionists, and high-achievers feel safe and secure in relationships – including the relationship with themselves.
You feel sad, scared, and exhausted. You work so hard to be perceived as “good” and “likable” and “competent.” Growing up, you might have learned that you have to fit into a certain box or be a certain way in order to be loved or feel worthy in your life and relationships. You often look to others or quantifiable things like grades or work performance to define self-worth. You might worry that you’re not good enough and you carry a lot of stress and anxiety.
Through therapy, you can feel safe & grounded, worthy of love, and empowered/powerful in their life.
I also provide couples therapy:
I help hurting, worried couples who feel stuck in the same cycle find better emotional and physical intimacy.
You feel sad, scared, angry. You are getting into the same arguments over and over. One partner is thinking: “I just want to feel close to my partner but when I try to do that sometimes my partner receives it as criticism/nagging; I worry that my partner doesn’t want to spend time with me/doesn’t like me.” The other partner is thinking: “I don’t think my partner sees how hard I try to get things right in our relationship; I worry about disappointing my partner because I care about them so much.”
Through therapy, you can feel connected with each other, understood and like they matter.
On a personal note…
I know what it is like to always be striving for more. I graduated from both UCLA and USC and am a recovering perfectionist.
There will always be pressure in the world to have more or do more; we do have the power to have what matters most to us with less of the constant stress and anxiety that you may be feeling.
When I’m not doing therapy, you may find me taking a peaceful stroll in nature or in a museum, listening to or creating music, spending time with loved ones, looking for new restaurants to try, or taking an outrageous amount of pictures of my dog.
