Hi! I’m Charisse.
I’m the type of therapist who understands that modern life can get in the way of creating a fulfilling life and deep connection in our most important relationships–it’s hard but it’s not impossible to find what we’re looking for!
My clients tell me that I help them feel comfortable opening up. They tell me I truly listen and they feel so relaxed in therapy process.
I provide therapy for parents:
I help new parents and achievement-oriented individuals who feel stuck in the daily grind live more in-line with their values, feel more present, and feel more connected with loved ones.
You feel disconnected, exhausted, overwhelmed, and lonely. You may be pregnant or postpartum and experiencing unexpected emotions and changes in identity/values in the transition to parenthood. You might feel like you’re burning the candle at both ends, scared you won’t be a good enough parents or partner because you’re so busy and exhausted. You don’t know how to re-structure your life to feel more in-line with your values. There’s nothing wrong with you that you “can’t do it all”, but it does feel like something is wrong.
Through therapy, you can feel good enough, able to enjoy the present moment, and able to experience authentic joy in the midst of busyness.
I also provide couples therapy for parents:
I help couples navigate life transitions including starting a family and raising young kids.
You feel exhausted, resentful/unappreciated, and overwhelmed. You are very productivity-driven and may be struggling to integrate kids and a family into the mix. You feel like you are “in the trenches”, like you have more responsibilities than ever while feeling less supported than ever. How can you “do it all” like you see other parents doing? Because your kids have become the priority, you might be struggling now more than ever to find time to nurture your relationship in the midst of never-ending to do lists and commitments. You may feel like you are stuck in old relationship patterns and want to learn new ways of relating to model more healthy dynamics for your kids as well as feel more secure in your relationship.
“We are like ships passing in the night; I don’t feel appreciated by my partner; I wish we had time for each other again; I feel like we can’t communicate about our new responsibilities well; we’ll never be as close as we were before kids; they’ll never see all that I do for the family; I’m not a good enough partner/parent.” Are all thoughts and worries that my clients commonly experience.
Through therapy, they can feel seen, valued/appreciated, and desirable & connected.
You can find me walking my dog with my husband, taking road trips to the coast, reading and watching anything to do with European history (if you have recommendations, I’d love to hear them!), and attempting to grow tomatoes.
