madison therapist sacramento ca

Hi! I’m Madison.

I’m the type of therapist who provides deep therapeutic care in session and resources to work on outside of session.

My clients tell me, “It’s like you crawled into my mind and said exactly how I feel,” and couples tell me, “You’re like the third person in our relationship, we’re always saying Madison would say ___.”

I provide therapy for women & men:

I help women in their 20s and 30s who struggle with deep attachment wounds (hurts from childhood or prior relationships) that affect how they see themselves and others as they navigate their careers, relationships, parenthood, and ever-evolving identity.

You feel guilty, anxious/worried, and misunderstood. You were described as “the easy one” or someone your parents “didn’t have to worry about”. You might struggle with boundaries in your family relationships, often feeling a deep sense of guilt for wanting to meet your own needs or pursue your own interests. Despite your success, you compare yourself to everyone around you, often feeling like you’re not good enough. You have read a lot of books on self-help and maybe have even been to therapy before. You’re in your head  A LOT, are very critical of yourself, and you assume everyone else thinks the worse of you too. You might feel like you have to keep it together and there’s no room for you to be the one who needs care, love, and attention.

I also love helping men with relationship struggles and sexual concerns including ED & porn use.

You feel like you’re constantly disappointing your partner or falling short, you try so hard to open up but feel like it’s never the right time or you can’t get it right. You want to feel desired and close like you did at the beginning of your relationship but don’t know what to do. When you get into arguments, you get frustrated easily or shut down and don’t know why. You get short tempered and angry with kids, it’s hard for you when they have big emotions and you don’t know how to help so instead you get frustrated. You want to understand your own emotional world so you can build lasting relationships with your family. Or maybe you’ve gone through a break up and want to better understand yourself and how to have better relationships in the future.

Through therapy, you can feel loved in the way you show love to others, relaxed, and self-accepting.

I also provide couples therapy:

I help couples who deeply love each other but find themselves hurting each other and stuck in frustrating conflict patterns that leave them feeling disconnected and resentful.

You feel misunderstood, resentful/fed up, and ashamed. One of you might feel like you’re never doing a good enough job in the relationship and one of you might long to feel seen and cared for.  You might say things like, “I feel like I have to get upset/mad in order for you to hear me”; “I can never get it right, I’m always messing up, it makes me not want to try”; “Why are we like this?”.

Through therapy, you can feel understood, close & connected (emotionally and physically), and you can even feel like you matter and are important to each other.

On a personal note…

I am a self-proclaimed Trader Joe’s enthusiast, and lover of podcasts and puzzles. I enjoy cooking without a recipe, reading good books, and my daily walks. I’m a big fan of pop music, reality tv, and my cat, Spoon.

I am excited everyday by the work I do and feel lucky to be part of your journey.

What clients are saying about Madison

Madison has been a truly wonderful therapist. I had never done 1:1 adult therapy before working with Madison and I’m so glad I started. She has provided an even more compassionate, safe, thoughtful environment than I could have hoped for. She has an innate ability to provide incredible insight while also being attentive and an active listener. Her comforting, warm presence allows me to share and ask questions openly and has helped me cover a wide range of topics and address some challenging areas that I had previously found difficult to broach. Our sessions feel more like conversations and I always walk away feeling heard and feeling more whole. I’d recommend Madison to anyone seeking 1:1 adult therapy. (Google Business)
