Hi! I’m Rachel.
I’m the kind of therapist who fiercely advocates for, laughs with, loves on, and empowers her clients. You can show up as your real self and know we will find a way through the pain.
My clients tell me that they feel more capable of making changes, holding boundaries and enjoying their life. Many have said they are grateful that I care about equity/social justice issues and use a politicized lens on healing.
I provide therapy for adults:
I help people who have always had to be perfect or strong (to get through child abuse or alienation) have a space to revel in their gifts, relax, and build upon their countless strengths.
You’re feeling nervous, tired, and hurt. It’s so hard to feel better. You’re tired of feeling like crap inside while appearing successful. You want to be able to let down your defenses and feel less alone. You might have hurt or trauma in your past–you want to understand it and create a new story that’s true to who you are now. You might want to feel free and peaceful with your understanding of your sexuality.
Through therapy, you can feel accompanied, connected, and peaceful.
I also provide couples therapy:
I help thoughtful, loving, curious couples who deeply care about each other and the world find more connection, joy, and intimacy.
You’re feeling lonely, tired, and worried. You have been through a lot. You may have attachment wounds (hurts from childhood or past relationships). You may be coming out or exploring your identity. You might be struggling with sex. Or you’re looking to take a new step or move to a new stage (ie. kids, marriage, kids leaving home, new jobs). You have tried to improve things, but you’re still having the same repetitive struggles, disagreements, and fears.
Through therapy, you can feel delighted in, joyfully connected, and sexually communicative.
On a personal note…
I acknowledge systems and environments, and how identities and oppression affect mental health, connection, community, and well-being.
I strive to create a safe and reflective space, that is social justice and trauma informed.
I have over 10 years experience working with immigrants and people who are first and second generation.
I’ve supported people dealing with pressures of acculturation, cross border and cultural identities, and intergenerational communication. I am fluent in Spanish and English and am happy to offer sessions in Spanish, or Bilingual sessions moving fluidly between Spanish and English as most clinically relevant to you and your family.
I look forward to getting to know you, your goals, and working alongside you!
